As some of you may have noticed, on Friday night we experimented with streaming some fun server racing to Facebook; the objective being to prove the concept but with an eye firmly on the Storm v Sabres league decider and perhaps for key meetings to be streamed this way.

The streaming was generously provided by Speedy and it's fair to say that it was a real success. The fun server had members popping in after watching it and racing continued until late in the night. Over 1100 people saw the post on Facebook and nearly 500 of them saw some of the footage (admittedly the majority had videos on auto play but a respectable 50+ deliberately clicked on 'play').

Tonight at 9pm we all have the opportunity of watching the nail biting clash of our two table toppers. Please keep an eye on the BSS Facebook page for more details later today...

A post has now been created on the BSS page along with an image too.

Please can everyone share this post around on facebook and on as many speedway facebook pages as possible. Let's get some new faces interested and you never know, if we all make the effort, we may have a 2 tier division league in season 12...

:)

Cya all tonight

Can anyone post the facebook link on the speedway-forum website?

Might get some interest?

Perhaps some club pages too?

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Some cracking racing, some down right dirty moves, some GTs. A big well done to all involved.

Really enjoyed watching the live steam.

I reckon this should be done more often, and should help to get more interest with old faces returning and new faces joining.

Well done to everyone that made this happen.

Thanks David, I felt that all this idea needed was a good introduction, now that its been done, with a little bit of explaining and getting used to i don't see why it cant become a regular thing. Thanks craig for running the meeting smoothly, certainly helped with the stream. Well done Storm and hopefully more streams to come! :D

Oh poop. Just got notification from Facebook that the Queen track, played after racing finished, is problematic. They provide two choices; delete the video or, if we have rights to use the music (we don't) post it. Not sure if it is possible to edit these final few minutes out - will check before doing anything.

For future reference we need to steer well clear of copyrighted music.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching the racing live and a big thanks to Speedy (for donating his time/PC to do the streaming) and both teams for the meeting progressing at a great pace.

Facebook is committed to protecting everyone's intellectual property, so we're letting you know that your video contains material that you may not have the rights to use.
Post this video if you feel that this is a mistake and that you have the rights to use all of the content in your video.

Delete this video if you don't have the rights to use all of the content in it.

Regrettably it looks very much like Facebook do not allow anything other than post/delete. The former creates potential legal problems whereas the latter loses the video. No facility exists for us to edit the footage and remove the music

Well in that case it look's like I am going to have to get Dan around to mine to record some commentary for this and then re-upload!

It happens Speedy - don't beat yourself up over it. Lesson learned.

Unfortunately no access exists to the video other than the notification. No contact information provided. Just looks like we have to accept that the footage is now lost.
